Weekend in Oman

I’m heading off for a weekend in Oman early tomorrow morning. I’m planning on leaving Fujairah 5.30AM, and if all goes to plan, I should be at D’Arcy’s Kitchen Shatti Al Qurum by 9.30AM – a definite breakfast favourite of mine.

The plan is to be in Nizwa some time after 1.00PM, which should be OK, unless it starts raining. I’ve been told there’s a chance of rain in the mountains.

I just spoke to a colleague of mine who’s lived here in the UAE for 10 years. She’s never been to Oman. How’s that possible?! We are 15 km from the border. Jaw-dropping if you ask me. I just love Oman. The only downside is that that the Omani customs officials insist on filling up an entire page of my passport with stamps every time I cross the border.

The view from D’Arcy’s Kitchen.
